Free Love 2023 Recap
We get giddy reminiscing back on Free Love because it’s truly one of the best days of the year! Free Love is such a heartwarming day that always has us smiling ear to ear. Every Valentine’s Day we give away free weddings (yes, FREE) to couples in the Austin and Fort Worth area. There is nothing better than giving back to our community that has been so good to us over the years. For Free Love, we partner up with awesome local vendors from stellar venues to breathtaking floral designers to create one magical V-day for our couples.

Austin Free Love
When we say, “It takes a village,” we mean it! We wouldn’t be able to have Free Love without our amazing vendors that donated their time + love. In Austin, we had the privilege of working with Betts + Co for day-of coordination. Taylor and her team coordinated the day like a breeze, helping us pull off 6 back to back weddings and vow renewals! Betts + Co made all of our couples feel welcomed, calm, and excited for their weddings! We couldn’t have done it without them. The event was held at The Carpenter Hotel and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue partner. It was the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous day. When we were designing Free Love, we were longing for loose and organic floral arrangements that gave a whimsy vibe and The Grand Lady exceeded our expectations! Speaking of whimsy vibes, Feather & Twine’s images are always awe-inspiring. Our go-to officiant, Kye Flannery, is a staple each year and we are so thankful for her year after year.
Next, Ruth Weatherford added a huge statement piece in both Free Love locations by creating beautifully hand-dyed ceremony backdrops. The fabric backdrop was made of beautiful flowy textures and earth tones, giving the space an ethereal and dreamy feel. Sincerely Addison, another dual location vendor, helped us create our lovely stationery + signage. Dart Collective brought their A-game with live musicians during the ceremonies + spinning vinyl during the receptions in both locations. Lastly, Panther City Media captured video during our couples’ big day and created an amazing highlight reel of all thee love that was goin’ on.

How fun is this? Homestead’s Open Air Photo Booth was a unique + fun way to capture guests at the event.

Noma’s china, flatware and glassware added that extra design element to complete the look.

Olive + Aires outdid herself with six one of a kind mini cakes for each couple and our Ziggy Stardust Shelves were a perfect home for them ‘til cake cutting time!

Adore made our brides feel extra special with their hair and make-up touch ups!

Cheers to our bar sponsors Meanwhile Brewery + Val de Cune!
Fort Worth Free Love
Continuing with all the love to Fort Worth, this year DFW’s Free Love was held at a cool + industrial warehouse venue, The 4 Eleven. We loved how we were able to play with the open space and create a unique layout in the venue. The mood for Free Love was light + airy, so we were stoked to see the juxtaposition between the venue and our inspo. We brought in Maxwell & Gray for planning and we honestly couldn’t have pulled this off without them. Their attention to detail was unmatched, and they were amazing with all of our couples. Joined by Jasmyn was the officiant for Fort Worth’s first ever Free Love last year, and returned again this year with customized ceremonies for each of our couples. Hannah Willis Creative came back again for Free Love 2023 and created stunning spring-time foliage for our ceremony + reception areas. Allure and Alchemy served up Socorro Tequila paired with Tepetán Mixers for our couples and their guests. The drinks paired perfectly with the charcuterie from La Tablera Boards, who created a stunning grazing table for everyone to enjoy! .
Lastly, you can’t leave a wedding ‘til you’ve tried the desserts, and Sweet Lucy’s Pies, a brand new pie shop located in Fort Worth, created the most delicious mini pies! Take the journey of Fort Worth’s 2023 Free Love through Justin Lee Burr’s lovely photographs. Grab a tissue! This day was one to remember.

Take a peek at Ruth Weatherford’s fabric installation again! We loved that each location had a little twist on how the installation was hung. In DFW, we took advantage of the industrial pipes to suspend the fabric from and create an impactful floating moment.

Grand Slam Glam made our brides feel extra special inside and out with hair + makeup touch ups.

Between ATX + DFW, we wanted to be cohesive in some design elements. Sincerely Addison helped us achieve that with beautiful signage.

There’s Dart Collective! Like we mentioned, they provided ceremony and reception jams for both locations. We can not thank them enough for all of their talented musicians. Free Love vibes wouldn’t be the same without them

We saved the best for last! Panther City Media captured beautiful moments from both Free Love locations in this video. Free Love was good vibes all around.
This year, both locations got featured on the news and spread the word of Free Love across Texas — Check out the segments on Austin Fox 7 and Good Morning Texas!
