Loot Core Value: Life with Intention Rather than Meaningless Living
In our commitment to live by the Loot values and promote an authentic and balanced living environment, we are spending time this year to explore each of the values that we strive to live at Loot. This month, we’re focusing on intentional living.

With the year still being squeaky new, we are renewing a personal challenge to ourselves to live a life full of intention rather than meaningless living. What does that mean for us? Choosing our path and following it. Believing in who we are and what we do. We enjoy the scenic path to becoming our authentic selves because the journey is more important than the destination.
What we’ve been challenged with lately poses the question: how do we live a life of intention if the pandemic has other intentions for us? How can we choose our path and follow it when the rules of COVID can be somewhat stifling and rigid?
For us, we’ve subscribed to that old adage, when life throws you lemons, make lemonade! We are nearly a full year into these COVID antics which have given us opportunities that we wouldn’t have had any other way. We’ve had a lot of cancellations which has allowed us the time to slow down and reflect. What we’ve learned in the process has made us stronger as a company, team and individuals.

We’ve been able to do a thorough audit of our inventory in order to provide you the best products in great condition. What happened to the other items that were ready to be retired? A warehouse sale is coming, so stay tuned for that.
Our Loot Dweller subscription service needed to take a backseat for a while, but that is for the best. We’ve learned that too many irons in the fire doesn’t always necessarily mean more opportunity for our customers. Sometimes sticking to your core offering is the true driver of success.
And don’t forget, we have had incredible results with our home staging offering and are so excited to do more! We love to create intentional spaces to inspire buyers looking for their next place to hang their hat. The Austin market is popping and we’ve found that our home staging offerings lead to quicker sales for well more than asking price. Honestly, it’s a no brainer to bring Loot into the fold to help sell your home. Don’t be surprised if the listing turns into a turnkey sell where the buyer wants all the contents to stay for them to enjoy. We’ve appreciated helping the buyers own some of the Loot that they’ve come to love from these situations.

Be on the lookout on our IG and blog for more content intended for you to explore intentional living in your lives. We will have a favorite Austinite, Erin Mursch, who is a certified in the KonMari Method of organization share some ideas on how she approaches her work and methods in creating a peaceful, inspirational space to live.
Speaking of inspirational spaces, we never want to miss an opportunity to broadcast just how excited we are about our Loot Finer Goods brand! We are super intentional on how we curate and stock our shop making sure to include products for sale that align with our values. We are currently applying the final touches to our new brick & mortar located under the same roof as our showroom and warehouse in Austin and we can’t wait to welcome you there. You will find expanded product offerings to get excited about. And as always, these offerings can be found online as well.

We’ve reflected, pivoted, changed course and grew deeper connections in the process. Our intention has always been to provide inspiration through great design, and gosh darn it, I’m so proud to say that we’re staying course with that vision by continuing to be the best boutique event rental business in Texas.
We’re expecting the flood gates to open up in the not too distant future and we’ll be at the ready to supply and inspire for your events. Our intention was not to take the COVID blow sitting down, but to jump on that wave and ride it to the end. What that produced was a better Loot Rentals than ever before. We can’t wait to see you again and welcome our new friends to both our Austin and DFW locations. Until then, keep that chin up, look for the opportunities, and continue to chase your dreams. Always be intentional in how your navigate your path.
