Loot Loves: Bake Sale

Bake Sale. Love the name, love the gal, love the treats! Bake Sale is our featured dessertress at this Thursday’s warehouse warming party. Andrea Duty, owner and genius behind the apron, creates confections of delight that always amaze us. And all in such delectably cute little bite sizes of wonder. She takes a nostalgic approach to come up with special treats such as cherry pop tarts made from scratch and little pudding cups like butterscotch and malted chocolate.

She doesn’t stop there! Andrea also supplies vintage cake stands and tabletop display items for rent. A girl after our own heart. Come see her this Thursday and enjoy some of her specially created items for our little party.

Andrea: Unsalted.

1)   What are your favorite Austin haunts?

Antonelli’s for gifts, Paggi House for Wine, G’raj Mahal for eggplant curry.

2)   What was one of your most memorable meals and why?

Don’t make me choose! My first meal in Lyon, France when I was 15 at some random Mom and Pop place. Super classic rabbit in aspic and oeuffs a la neige for dessert. It totally opened my eyes to what food could be.

3)   Share the most memorable Halloween costume from your past.

I wore a potato sack stuffed with a comforter once. Hey, I grew up in Washington and it was freezing, so the costume did double duty!

4)   Beach Boys or Beatles?

Beatles.

5)   Chicken or the egg?

Put an egg on it.

6)   What animal best describes you and why?

A whale. Ha. They can eat more than most, and they like to travel long distances.

7)   What is your favorite board game?

Trivial pursuit, but no one will play with me.

8)   Do you prefer a savory or a sweet breakfast?

Savory and spicy.

9)   What name would you like Loot to use for one of its new signature pieces?

Petunia.

The countdown is on! So excited to see all of you and Andrea at our warehouse party this Thursday!

Lootfully Yours, Anna and Rhoda

Loot Loves: Paige Newton Photography

What can we say about this gal. Her beautiful photography says so much, but it doesn’t say it all. She’s full of energy, style and calm. She approaches her subjects and projects with gusto  that helps tell 1000 stories…just like her motto (and cool wrist tattoo) suggests.

Paige Newton will be at are warehouse warming party capturing all the happiness for us. Get to know her a little better here.

1)   What are your favorite Austin haunts? Violet Crown Social Club because the booze is cheap and it’s not decorated cooler than I dress. Also, Contigo

2)   What was one of your most memorable meals and why? A few years ago, I went to Uganda with some folks and we had this insanely awesome meal at this little hole in the wall in Kampala. Actually, it was probably a really nice restaurant, I don’t remember. But it has perfect ambience, amazing food, lovely people.. all the makings of a perfect meal.

3)   Share the most memorable Halloween costume from your past. Before it really became “a thing,” I dressed up as my Facebook profile… I took a poster board, drew out the profile (which was far more simple back in 2004), cut out a space where my profile pic would be and stuck my head through it.

4)   Beach Boys or Beatles? Beatles. 4. Eva.

5)   Chicken or the egg? Whichever is seasoned better I suppose.

6)   What animal best describes you and why? A fox. HA. Oh gosh, I don’t know. I just don’t have an answer for that one…

7)   What is your favorite board game? Balderdash because it’s fun to lie about things that don’t matter.

8)   Do you prefer a savory or a sweet breakfast? Savory.

9)   What name would you like Loot to use for one of its new signature pieces? My name.

Paige it is. See you all soon!

Loot Love: Le San Michele

Leigh Ann and Matt’s wedding recently posted in Style Me Pretty Texas exudes intense style and class. We loved meeting the beautiful Leigh Ann and latching onto her vision…which wouldn’t have been possible without the help of an awesome vendor team including Le San Michele in Buda, TX.

This totally unassuming oasis is tucked away in a residential neighborhood. Upon entering the gates you are immediately transferred from Hill Country charm into a Tuscany meets Pacific Palisades paradise. From inside the walls of the house to the well manicured grounds, you feel as if you could turn a corner and find the ocean staring you down. Seriously, the venue is so transforming we really felt as if salt water was wafting through the air.
Please be sure to check out Leigh Ann and Matt’s wedding here (photographed by Katherine O’Brien Photography and coordinated by the wondrous Three Apples Events) see if you can spot the Loot, and then take a trip out to Le San Michele for a refreshing taste of the Mediterranean…Hill Country Style. You might take a swim suit in case you do find the ocean.
With Loot Love,
Rhoda and Anna
